Students in Mr. Behra’s sixth grade science class work on the gardens at Wilson.
This garden project will allow students to know what factors can influence how a garden grows. Factors (biotic or abiotic) can be the shade, the sun the water and the nutrients the plants are getting. Different plants will like different various environments.
Computer Access & Tutoring
Wilson science teachers will be hosting computer lab hours in their classrooms after school. All Wilson Middle School students and parents are invited to use our Macintosh iBooks for academic, informational, or recreational purposes. Please check out our schedule.
Wilson Middle School is one of eight middle schools included in Phase 3 of the “Enhancing Science Education through Technology” (ESETT) program. Phase 3 was made possible by a $2.24 million grant to the San Diego Unified Educational Technology Department (funded by NCLB, Title II, Part D). Wilson 7th and 8th grade science teachers will participate in the program beginning in 2006 through the end of the 2008 school year. The focus of the ESETT program is to integrate inquiry-based science education.
Wilson Middle School Students Win “Grand Recognition” Award for Video
The Wilson student-produced video, “Liz Contreras-Dedicated to Children”, received the Grand Recognition Award at the annual Innovative Video in Education (iVIE) Awards ceremony. The award is given to videos that best address a learning standard, tell a story, are creative, original, and demonstrate technical mastery.
One of the 6th grade Exploring Computer class received a Special Achievement award for the video, "Courage and Hope" in the area of 'Directing'. Learn more.

Monthly Parent Meeting Date: 9/16/2010
Time: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Location: Come join us for our first Parent Meeting. The meeting will be in the auditorium.
Enrollment for New Student 2010-2011
Our school is currently enrolling new students between the hours of 8:00-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-3:00p.m. for the upcoming 2010-11 school year, which starts Tuesday, Sept. 7. Parents and guardians are encouraged to complete the enrollment process before Friday, Sept. 3, to avoid delay. Due to budget constraints, Sept. 3 is a designated ‘furlough’ day for our office staff. Our school office will not be open on September 3rd. Please plan to enroll your child earlier in the week. Thank you.
New Student Registration
Registration for new students will be on August 24 - September 2, 2010. Registration hours are from 8:30-11:30 and 1:00-3:00.
CST Testing
CST Testing will be from 06/03/10 - 06/11/10. Testing will start at 8:30 AM and end at 12:00 PM. Please try to schedule doctor's appointments after 12:00 PM
